All the educational centers of the municipality, the 5th and 6th grades of Primary, will receive a series of training talks by the Local Police of Coín that will also entail a practical part consisting of a road safety circuit.

The Coín City Council continues to offer an extensive program of workshops and talks to educational centers that are complementary to their school programming. Thus, during this month of March and April, it offers all the centers a series of training talks to raise awareness among students and families so that they can walk to school in a much safer way. This is the 'Andando al cole' (Walking to school) program, which the Education Area offers to all the centers and which will reach the students through this training program in the coming weeks by the Local Police of Coín. "'Andando al cole' is a very nice project to make the arrival of boys and girls to school on foot and in a much safer way. We have resumed it after the pandemic has disrupted us a bit, to remember its importance and benefits, as well as influence traffic regulations and road safety ”, explained Raquel López, Councilor for Education and Children of the City Council, who has reported about this activity together with the Councilor for Security, Antonio González, and the head of the Local Police, Óscar Nogueroles.

During the next few days, agents of the Local Police of Coín will visit these educational centers to inform the 5th and 6th grades of Primary about the importance of going to the center safely, walking, without haste and in accordance with traffic regulations. and road safety. “We are going to divide the training into two parts. On the one hand, we are going to offer theoretical training that many students already know and, on the other, we are going to carry out some practical road safety sessions where they will be able to check the risks if it is not done correctly, as well as its benefits if all the instructions are followed. indications”, reported Nogueroles. This was an activity that had been carried out in educational centers before the Covid-19 pandemic and that this course has already been resumed.

For her part, López has remarked that following the traffic and road safety measures and regulations at all times "it is much safer to go to school" than in any other way. “We have gotten used to arriving by car at the door of everything, from the bar, from the store, to pick up a friend and even when dropping off our son at school. This is generally a mistake, and even more so when so many cars are concentrated in the same place, as is the case at most of the entrances to our centers”, she insisted. In this sense, she has stressed that it is this situation that is intended to be avoided "if the authorized car parks are used" and the "safe paths created within this program are traveled so that our children can walk to school".
