The Coín City Council has already started the works for the construction of the new semi-Olympic swimming pool in the José Burgos Quintana Sports City. The project has an investment of 575,839 euros financed through the Malaga Provincial Council and is being executed by a local company. The mayor Francisco Santos has visited the progress of the works together with the Councilor for Sports, Raquel López, and the Councilor for Town Planning, Fran Jiménez. "It is a very exciting project in which we have been working for many months to offer our city and our neighbors the summer pool, in the conditions they deserve", highlighted the councilor from Coin. This pool will complement the leisure use for all the residents with the professional use of competitive swimming as it has the dimensions approved for the sports competition, the projected dimensions being 12.5 by 25 meters in the rectangular pool and 435 square meters in its entirety. . This size will allow the clubs of our town to train in these facilities, as well as in the summer season, so that the little ones can enjoy the recreation area with artificial grass and umbrellas with the family. The work is progressing at a good pace as "the lowering of the ground has already been carried out" and this week the concrete walls will begin for the final base of the pool.

The assigned location is a disused area close to a top-level sports area where functional sports and athletics are practiced, so this new pool will promote the use and enjoyment of a new sport in a top-level natural setting. . "All of us citizens know this area very well and many of us regularly walk around the Nacimiento, therefore, we find a swimming pool in the middle of the natural setting, next to the picnic areas in the pine trees where we can also combine the use of the swimming pool with the practice sports, hiking or mountain biking in this enviable area”, assured the councilor from Coin. This, in the words of the councilor, is one of the great benefits of this summer pool. For his part, the president of the Malaga Provincial Council, Francisco Salado, pointed out that this type of action "undoubtedly improves the quality of life of citizens, to whom they provide truly quality services." The neighbors who come to the Llanos del Nacimiento will be able to spend a great day in a privileged natural environment with picnic areas under the pine trees, the possibility of practicing sports outdoors with hiking or cycling, as well as inside the Sports City where it is practiced. athletics or functional training through the municipal sports offer. In addition to all this, citizens will have this new summer pool service that complements all of the above in the best space. “We want to offer quality services to our neighbors, which is why we have designed this pool and in this space. This is the summer pool that Coín and its citizens deserve and it will be a reality for next summer”, Francisco Santos assured.
